The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) is planning to construct a transmission line in Mindanao, the Philippines.
The project involves the construction of an 11.3km transmission line from Balo-i Substation in Lanao del Norte to Aurora Substation. It will be developed in two phases.
The first phase includes the construction of a 230kV transmission line from Balo-i-Kauswagan to Aurora and will be able to add 600MW of energy to the grid from GN Power Kauswagan Ltd Co.‘s power plant.
The second phase involves the construction of a 230kV double-circuit transmission line from the Kauswagan Substation in Lanao del Norte to the Aurora Substation in Misamis Occidental.
The project will include the construction of substations and related infrastructure, and the installation of transformers and power control units.
In January 2015, NGCP submitted an application to the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC).
On August 3, 2015, the project was approved by the ERC.
In March 2017, NGCP is seeking regulatory approval for capital expenditures for the second phase.Scope
