The Nine Elms Vauxhall Partnership (NEVP) is planning to undertake the construction of a New Thames Pedestrian and Cycling Bridge project in London, the UK.

The project envisages the construction of a footbridge across the River Thames between Nine Elms in South Bank and Pimlico North Bank.

In December 2013, feasibility studies completed on the project.

NEVP has chosen two options for the exact route such as Nine Elms Riverside (US Embassy) to Pimlico Gardens and Nine Elms Riverside to Pimlico Riverside (Dolphin Square) from six options.

In July 2014, project plans were approved by Wandsworth Council. However, the exact location is yet to be confirmed with the preferred options are close to the site of the new US Embassy.

On December 8, 2014, Wandsworth Council launched design competition on the project.

In July 2015, Wandsworth Council unveiled four design proposals submitted by four design consortia. The competitors include:

1. Buro Happold with Marks Barfield Architects, J&L Gibbons Landscape Architects, Gardiner and Theobald.

2. Bystrup Architecture Design and Engineering with Robin Snell & Partners, Sven Ole Hansen ApS, Aarsleff and AF Lighting.

3. Ove Arup & Partners with AL_A, Gross Max, Equals Consulting and Movement Strategies.

4. Ove Arup & Partners with Hopkins Architects and Grant Associates.

In November 2015, Bystrup Architecture Design and Engineering is appointed as Architect for the project.

AF Lighting appointed as a lighting consultant, David Bonnett Associates Ltd as a design consultant and DP9 Ltd as a planner.

In February 2017, Bystrup Architecture Design and Engineering, Robin Snell and Partners has been appointed as architects, COWI Gulf A/S as engineering consultant, and AECOM Ltd as environmental consultant.

Design activities are underway.

The project involves the construction of a footbridge across the River Thames between Nine Elms and Pimlico in London, the UK.
