A joint-venture of Notore Chemical Industries Ltd (NCIL) and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) is planning to construct an Integrated Fertilizer Production Plant project in Rivers State, Nigeria.

The project involves the construction of an integrated fertilizer production plant to produce 1,700 Metric tonnes per day (MTPD) of ammonia, 3,000MTPD of urea and 1,300MTPD of other petrochemicals.

The project includes the construction of production unit, packaging unit, storage space, administrative space and other related facilities.

The plant will be built on a brownfield site with existing gas facilities and infrastructure.

In April 2012, a joint-venture agreement was signed between NCIL and MHI for the development of the project. The agreement also includes MHI to conduct pre-front end engineering design (Feed) for the project.

Planning activities are underway.

The project involves the construction of an integrated fertilizer production plant at Onne, Rivers State, Nigeria.
