The Ministry of Transportation and Intelligence, Israel (MoTI) plans to build an artificial island on land off the coast of Gaza in Palestine.
The project involves the construction of a 4km-long and 2km-wide artificial island on 526ha area. It includes the construction of a marina for passengers, a port for cargo ships, gas and electricity terminals and space for an airport, a desalination plant, a causeway which connects the island to the mainland, parking spaces and the installation of machinery and equipment.
Construction on the project is expected to take five years to complete.
