The Ministry of Tourism (MoT) is planning to undertake the development of an integrated eco-tourism resort project in Sabah, Malaysia.
The project involves the development of an eco-tourism integrated resort on a 200ha of land.
It will include the construction of four and five-star hotels and resorts, waterfront properties and an entertainment center. The design of the project would be similar to Singapore's Marina Bay Sands.
It also includes the construction of a museum, cultural villages, a theme park similar to the famed Disneyland; and the installation of safety and security systems.
The government will allocate up to US$33 million to finance the project. The government is also hoping to attract foreign direct investment (FDIs) with the establishment of the integrated eco-nature resort.
Karambunai Corporation Berhad (KCB) has been appointed as the developer and operator for the project.
