The Ministry of Transport (MoT), Vietnam is planning to undertake the road upgrade project in Vietnam.
The project involves the construction of two additional lanes to existing 65km four-lane road from Ho Chi Minh City (HCM City) to Moc Bai.
The project will include the construction of pavements, supporting walls, carriageways, service roads and road separators, and the installation of signaling systems and overhead sign structures.
The project is planned to be developed through public-private partnership (PPP) on build operate transfer (BOT) basis.
Transport Engineering and Design Inc (Tedi South) has been appointed as an engineering consultant for the project.
Cuu Long Corporation for Investment, Development and Project Management of Infrastructure (CIPM) has been appointed as management contractor for the project.
The Vietnamese government has approved the project.
In December 2015, a consortium of Thai Son Investment Development Joint Stock Company (JSC) which consists of four companies three of Thailand's i.e. the Ministry of Defense, Cai Mep Investment JSC, Red River Construction Investment and Trading JSC, and one India’s IL&FS Transportation Networks Limited (ITNL) has expressed interest (EoI) in developing the project under the build-operate-transfer (BOT) model to the Ministry of Transport, Vietnam. How ever final decision yet to be made.
Feasibility study activities are underway which is expected to be completed by the end of 2017.
