The project involves the upgrade of the Rishikesh-Rudraprayag road from 228km to 368km. It includes the construction of 594m high-level bridges at Kaliasaur, culverts, tunnels, viaducts, bridges, bypasses and related infrastructure, and the installation of signalling and safety systems.
On December 27, 2016, a foundation stone was laid.
As of February 2017, construction works are underway and is scheduled to be complete by 2018.
