The Ministry of Railways, Pakistan (MoRP) and the Ministry of Railways, China (MoRC) are planning to undertake a railway line from Gwadar to Khunjrab in Pakistan.
The project involves the construction of a 2,700km railway line from Gwadar to Khunjrab. It includes the construction of bridges, tunnels, stations and related infrastructure, the installation of signalling and safety systems and the laying of railway tracks.
In November 2013, a consortium of China Railway Engineering Corporation (CREC) and Sinotec expressed interest in developing the project.
In July 2014, some of the developers from China also expressed interest in undertaking the project.
In May 2015, an official agreement on the corridor was signed between China and Pakistan.
The project is in early stages of development.
