Ministry of Railways (MoR) is planning to undertake a rail link from Jammu to Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir, India.
The project involves the construction of a railway link of 234.12km. It will include the construction of stations and related infrastructure, the installation of signaling systems and the laying of railway tracks.
In September 2008, a preliminary engineering and traffic survey had been carried out by the Northern Railways Construction Organization and report of the same has been submitted to the Railway Board, Ministry of Railways.
In 2008, detailed survey and project report has been initiated for the project and in March 2012, the project was taken up as a national project.
Survey works were completed in July 2014.
The project was put on hold by the former Government and later in January 2016, the new government promised fresh survey for the project.
In February 2016, Railways Ministry kept a provision of US$0.05 million for survey of the project.
