The Ministry of Railways (MoR), Pakistan is planning to undertake the construction of Gwadar to Jacobabad Railway Line project in Pakistan.
The project involves the construction of a railway line of 1,048km from Gwadar in Balochistan to Jacobabad in Sindh. It includes the construction of railway stations, bridges, platforms, parking facility, the installation of signaling systems, the laying of railway lines.
In December 2013, MoR secured planning approval from the Central Development Working Party (CDWP) for the project.
The Governments of Pakistan and Governments of China signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop the project in early 2015.
In May 2016, the Governments of Pakistan is planning to undertake the feasibility study of the project.
In January 2017, MoR issued RFP for the submission of feasibility study plans along with preliminary design.
Feasibility study activities are underway.
