The Mauritius Ministry of Public Infrastructure (MoPI) is undertaking the construction of a metro express project in Mauritius.
The project involves the construction of a 26km, light rapid transit system between Jan Palach in Curepipe and Victoria in Port Louis, with 19 stations.

The Government of India (GoI) and Mauritius Government has signed a double taxation avoidance agreement for the development of the project. Under the agreement, GoI will provide US$346 million funding, and the project needs to be built by an Indian company.

On July 31, 2017, Larsen & Toubro (L&T) appointed as a design-and-build contract for the project with the contract value of US$572 million.
Preliminary works are underway.
Construction activities on the project are scheduled to commence in September 2017 and a 13km section of the route from Port Louis to Rose Hill is scheduled to complete in 2019, with the remainder of the line to Curepipe due for commissioning in 2021.
