The Ministry of Infrastructure, Transport, Telecommunications & ICT (MoITT) along with AGEROUTE is planning to undertake the Mbour-Kaolack toll highway development project in Senegal.
The project involves the construction of a 125km four-lane road from Mbour to Kaolack through Fatick. It includes the construction of pavements, carriageways, culverts, road intersections, bridges, service roads, pedestrian ways and other related infrastructure and the installation of street lights.
In August 2012, China Road and Bridge Corporation was appointed as the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor for the project.
In August 2016, MoITT appointed Norvia group as the project assistant.
In January 2017, State of Senegal signed a contract with an undisclosed Brazilian company.
Construction works are expected to commence in 2019 and scheduled to be completed by 2023.
