The Ministry of Infrastructure, Kosovo (MoI) is undertaking the construction of a highway in Kosovo.
The project involves the construction of a 30km dual-lane carriageway for N9 Prishtinë-Pejë section from Kijevë -Klina to Zahac. It includes the construction of service roads, intersections, culverts, bridges and related infrastructure, and the installation of signaling systems.
In 2016, the Western Balkans Investment Framework (WBIF) funded for the preparation of the pre-feasibility study.
On December 25, 2016, Mott MacDonald and IPF Consortium prepared the environmental and social impact assessment and nontechnical summary report for the project.
WBIF will provide a US$3.1 million grant and The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development will provide a US$140 million loan for the project.
Construction is expected to commence in the first quarter of 2018 and it will take 30 months to complete.
