The Ministry of Energy And Mineral Resources (MoEMR) is planning to undertake the construction of a nuclear power plant in Riau Islands Province, Indonesia.
The project involves the construction of 2,400MW (2x1,200MW) nuclear power plant.
It will include the construction of power houses, a substation, cooling towers, storage tanks and access roads, the installation of generators and nuclear reactors and the laying of transmission lines.
Rosatom, expressed its interest in building the power plant by providing third generation nuclear power plant technology and funding support in the fourth quarter of 2014.
In Q4 2015, Badan Pengusahaan Batam signed a MoU with National Nuclear Energy Agency (BATAN).
