It includes the construction of a station building integrated into the parking garage, 765-space parking structure, 12-car platform with snowmelt system, heated shelters, a covered six-bay bus loop, Kiss ‘n’ ride area with a drop-off lane, bike lane with bike shelters allowing direct access to the platform, 253 parking spaces in a surface lot and 32 parking spaces for electric vehicles and the installation of rooftop solar panels, security and safety systems.
The project will be funded by the Government of Ontario.
IBI Group has been appointed as an engineering consultant and DNA Mechanical Inc. as the mechanical subcontractor for the project.
On July 21, 2016, Metrolinx issued tender for construction contract on the project with a submission deadline of October 4, 2016.
Kenaidan Contracting Ltd has been appointed as the contractor for the project.
In January 2017, pre-construction works on the project began with the shoring wall and site grading at the station site.
In February 2017, utility works commenced.
In March 2017, main construction works commenced, with a groundbreaking ceremony.
Construction works are underway and are expected to be completed by May 2019.
