The project involves the construction of five story, 49,000m2 headquarters building on 3ha of land.
The project includes the construction of meeting rooms, conference facilities, office space, a leisure center, an ESB substation, 558 car and 74 bike parking spaces and related facilities and the installation of elevators, safety and security systems.
In June 2014, MSFT submitted a planning application to Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council.
On August 6, 2014, Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council approved plans for the project, subject to contributions of US$11 million to Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council.
In July 2015, Microsoft has been granted planning permission for the project.
In August 2015, Royal BAM Group was awarded as design-build contractor. The contract is valued at US$109 million and the scope of the work includes design, construction, and completion of the project.
In October 2015, construction work commenced slated for completion in September 2017.
