Moundsville Power LLC (MPLLC) is planning to undertake the construction of a natural gas power plant in Moundsville, Marshall County, West Virginia, the US.
The project involves the construction of a 549MW gas power plant on 15ha of land. It includes the construction of a powerhouse, a substation, gas storage facilities, combustion chambers, a cooling tower and related infrastructure, the installation of GE 7.04 gas turbines and generators, and the laying of transmission lines.
The project will be financed by Moundsville Power.
Energy Solutions Consortium has been appointed as an associate developer; Witt Economics LLC as study consultant; CH2M Hill as consulting engineer; and General Electric Co. (GE) as supply contractor for the project.
In February 2015, the West Virginia Public Service Commission issued a final order approving the siting certificate for the construction of the power plant. MPLLC is in the process of securing funds.
Black & Veatch Corporation has been appointed as design-build contractor.
MPLLC is awaiting approvals from the West Virginia Air Quality Board. The project is facing delay due to regulatory issues.
