Myanmar Port Authority (MPA) is planning to construct a deep sea port in Ayeyarwady Region, Myanmar.
The project involves the construction of a deep-sea port with a handling capacity of 50,000 tonnes per annum (TPA). It will include the construction of access roads, warehouses, loading and unloading facilities, an administrative space and related facilities.
In August 2013, Super Axis Development Pte Ltd has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with MPA to undertake the feasibility study for the project. The scope includes the analysis, the measurement of water resistance, ground testing, the effect of wind and tide and the overall expenses to construct a whole deep seaport.
A feasibility study has been launched and potential investors have been invited by MPa to participate in project development.
