Ministerio de Obras Publicas (MOP), Chile and Ministerio de Planificacion Federal, Inversion Publica y Servicios, (Minplan) Argentina are undertaking the Paso Fronterizo Las Leñas project between Chile and Argentina.
The project involves the construction of a 136km road, a 13km tunnel and related infrastructure, and the installation of lighting and overhead sign structures.
A 64km road will be built in Chile and an 83km road will be built in Argentina. The pre-feasibility study completed.
Earlier tunnel length was 11km but now it is increased to 13km.
Chile will invest US$635 and rest of the amount will provide by Argentina. The project is seeking for the fund.
The project involves the construction of a 136km road and an 13km tunnel between Termas de Cauquenes, Machalí, O’Higgins, Chile and El Sosneado y San Rafael, in Mendoza province, Argentina.
