The project involves the construction of additional facilities for the upgrade of 115km from Touba to Linguere through Dahra road.
It includes the construction of supporting walls, carriageways, service roads, road separators, pedestrian ways, toll stations and related infrastructure, and the installation of signaling and lighting systems.
On December 23, 2014, the Kuwait Fund for African Economic Development (FKDEA) entered an agreement to provide funding of US$36 million for the project following receiving an initial funding of US$17 million, which was signed on 18 November 2013.
