The Ministry of Interior (MOI), Saudi Arabia is undertaking the Package D of Second phase of the King Abdullah Project (KAP) for Development of Security Compounds in Saudi Arabia.
The project involves the construction of security complexes at different locations in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It is being implemented in six sub-packages.
The project includes the construction of administration buildings, headquarters, housing units and other infrastructural facilities, and the installation of safety and security systems.
Zuhair Fayez Partnership Consultants has been appointed as the Programme Management Consultant for the King Abdullah Project (KAP) for Development of Security Compounds.
MOI invited contractors to submit bids for the six sub-packages of the project in the first quarter of 2014 with a submission deadline as April 2014.
Following which, Joannou & Paraskevaides (J&P) submitted the lowest bid for the sub-packages 2, 3, 4 and 5 with a bid price ranging from US$267 million to US$427 million while El-Seif Engineering Contracting submitted the lowest bid for the sub-packages 1 and 6 with a bid price of US$586 million and US$933 million respectively.
Joannou & Paraskevaides (Overseas) Ltd. has been appointed as general contractor.
Construction works are underway and scheduled to be completed by 2019.
The project involves the construction of security complexes at different locations in Saudi Arabia.
The US$700 million project includes the following:
1. Construction of administration buildings

4. Construction of other infrastructural facilities
