Ministry of Energy Nepal (MoEN) and Ministry of Power India (MoPI) are planning to undertake the construction of the Cross-Border Transmission Line between Butwal in Nepal and Gorakhpur in India.
The project involves the construction of a 135km, 400kV transmission line. It includes the construction of substations, the installation of cable towers, power transformers and related equipment, and the laying of sub-transmission lines and distribution lines.
Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) agreed to provide funding to Nepal to complete works on the Nepal side.
