The Ministry of Mines and Energy, Cameroon (MMEC) is planning to undertake the development of Oil Refinery project in Kribi, Cameroon.
The project involves the construction of an oil production facility on 500ha of land and it will produce 200,000bpd of refined fuel which will be later ramped up to 350,000bpd.
It includes the construction of storage tanks, administrative facility, the installation of machinery, safety and security systems, the laying of pipeline.
Cedecorp S.A has been appointed as the developer for the proposed refinery. Under the agreement, Cedecorp will run the refinery for 10 years before handing it over to Cameroon.
MMEC has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with US firm International Refinery Consultant (IRC) to conduct the study on the project.
In June 2015, Russian group RusGaz Engineering was appointed as the Feasibility Study contractor for the project.
