The Ministry of Land, Transportation and Maritime Affairs (MLTM) of South Korea is planning to construct the GTX High-speed Rail System project in Gyeonggi Province, South Korea.
The project involves the construction of a new high-speed rail system comprising three lines and spanning 140.7km.
The project includes the construction of a 37.4km rail line between Ilsan and Suseo (Dongtan) named as GTX A, a 48.7km rail line between Songdo and Cheongryangri named as GTX B and a 45.8km rail line connecting Uijeongbu and Geumjeong named as GTX C.
The project includes the construction of stations and other related facilities.
In April 2017, Request For Proposals (RFP) for GTX A are scheduled to be issued in fourth quarter 2017 and the shortlisted candidates will be selected in first quarter 2018.
Construction works on GTX A are scheduled to commence in fourth quarter 2018 and complete in 2023.
