The Ministry of Infrastructure, Rwanda (MININFRA) and The Ministry Of Transport, Public Works And Equipment of Republic of Burundi (MTPWE) are undertaking the construction of an oil products pipeline from Kigali in Rwanda to Bujumbura in Burundi.
The project involves the construction of a 220km oil products pipeline. It includes the construction of mainline pumps, intermediate pump stations and storage terminals.
In May 2015, EAC received financing from the African Development Bank Group towards to undertake the feasibility study.
EAC invited expression of interest (EoI) from consultants to provide consultancy services with submission deadline as May 20, 2015.
Subject to feasibility studies, the consultant shall prepare the business case and PPP model structure; and prepare tender documents for recruitment of a consultant firm to carry out detailed engineering design and a detailed environmental social impact assessment (ESIA).
EAC is in the process of appointing feasibility consultant.
