The Ministry for Environmental Protection of Ukraine(MEPU) is planning to undertake the reconstruction of a wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) in Bortnychi, Kiev, Ukraine.

The project involves the reconstruction a water intake structure, coarse grids, inlet pumping stations, waste removal tanks, aeration tanks, final sedimentation tanks, DAF sludge floating units, sludge storage tanks, sludge dewatering units and the installation of power-related facilities.

In May 2015, Government of Japan has approved to allocate US$1,100 million for the construction of the project.

Project documentation works and preparatory works on the project are underway which are scheduled to be completed by the third quarter of 2017 and construction is scheduled to commence in November 2018.

Scope

The project involves the reconstruction of waste water treatment plant in Bortnychi, Kiev, Ukraine.

The US$1,500 million project includes the following:

1. Reconstruction of a water intake structure

2. Reconstruction of coarse grids

3. Reconstruction of inlet pumping stations

4. Reconstruction of waste removal tanks

5. Reconstruction of aeration tanks
