Ministerio de Energía y Minas (MEM) is undertaking the San Gaban IV Hydroelectric Power Plant Development project in Carabaya, Peru.
The project involves the construction of two hydroelectric power plants with a combined generation capacity of 351.6MW.
It includes the construction of reservoirs, tunnels, powerhouses, substations, switchyards and other related infrastructure facilities, the installation of generators, turbines and related equipment, and the laying of transmission lines.
The project will be developed over two phases; phase one will be the Corani plant with a generation capacity of 111.8MW and phase two will be Ollachea plant with a generation capacity of 239.8MW.
Swiss Hydro SAC was appointed as the development contractor for the project.
Planning activities are underway.
