Ministère de l'eau et de l'assainissement (MEA) and Plan national du développement économique et social (PNEDS) are planning to construct the Bougouriba Hydroelectric Plant and dam in the comm une of Sud-Ouest, Burkina Faso.
The project involves the construction of a Hydroelectric Plant with a generation capacity of 105MW, a 26m-high and 940m-length dam with 30 million m3 of storage capacity, protection walls, water pumping stations, water discharge canals and access roads, and the installation of dam gates and security systems.
In 2014, feasibility studies commenced.
As of July 2017, study activities are underway.
