Montreal City Council (MCC) is planning to redevelop the natural sciences complex in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
The project involves the construction of additional infrastructural facilities to the natural sciences complex. It includes the construction of a botanical garden, a modular multipurpose room to accommodate 350 people, an insectarium, a biodome, sky bridges, parking and related infrastructure.
In February 2014, MCC launched three separate architectural competitions for the project.
On November 25, 2014, Alejandro Zaera-Polo & Maider Llaguno Architecture (AZMPL) and KANVA won the US$3.2 million competition for the biodome redevelopment.
Lacaton & Vassal will undertake the design works for the botanical garden and Kuehn Malvezzi Architects will design the insectarium.
As of March 2017, MCC revised the plans of the proposed project and waiting for the additional funding to implement the new plans.
