Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) is planning to construct an AAC in Selangor, Malaysia.

The project involves the construction of mixed-use facilities on a 328,000m2 area. It is planned to be constructed in three phases.

The project includes the construction of office buildings, research and development facilities, academic campuses, a convention center, residential space, parking and related facilities.

The project also features an electric bus system and a light rail link that will connect to the centre of Kuala Lumpur and to Subang Airport and the streamlined buildings will be covered by 36,000m2 of canopies that will shade outdoor areas and generate electricity with photovoltaic panels.

Atkins Global (Atkins) has been appointed as lead consultant and planner, Strand is to provide engineering services, MARA’s subsidiary, MARA Aerospace Technologies Sdn Bhd. is to provide infrastructure and content technologies.

In July 2014, Atkins completed the concept design and master plan for the project.

Planning activities are underway and the construction of first phase of the project is slated to be completed in 2018.
