Highways England (HE) is undertaking the upgrade of a road section from Catthorpe to Kislingbury, in the UK.
The project involves the upgrade of a 19km road section. It includes the construction of concrete road barriers, pavement shoulders, drainage lines, related facilities, the installation of CCTV cameras and resurfacing of the roads.
On August 7, 2014, bmJV, a joint venture between BAM Nuttall Ltd and Morgan Sindall Group plc, was awarded construction contract for renewal works.
The barrier renewal works which replace the existing life expired barrier and facilitates a future smart motorway scheme along this stretch of road.
In August 2014, construction of new rigid concrete barrier commenced.
In January 2015, installation of rigid concrete barrier for 7km was completed.
In February 2015, enabling works commenced.

HE has decided to implement Motorway work in two phases in which junctions 16 and 17 first phase and 17 and 19 second phase.
The work between junctions 17 and 19 will begin afterwards, when the Catthorpe (16 and 17) interchange works are completed at the end of 2016.
In February 2016, construction commenced on the first phase.
