Looop Inc. (Looop) is planning to build a solar power plant in Kitui, Kenya.
The project involves the construction of a 40MW solar power plant. It includes the construction of a substation and related infrastructure, and the installation of solar panels, and the laying of transmission lines.
In December 2016, Looop signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Kitui County Government for the project.
The electricity produced will be sold to Kenya Power & Lighting Co (KPLC) by using a feed-in tariff (FIT) scheme over a period of 20 years.
