On January 6, 2016 and January 7, 2016, the Secretary of State’s Planning Inspector visited the site and invited all the appeals of local residents, owners and local organizations.

On March 29, 2016, the appeal is dismissed by the Secretary of State’s Planning Inspector.

As of October 2016, outline planning application for 45 homes was submitted to the council.

As of May 2017, Lightwood 45 homes were rejected by Brighton and Hove City Council

The project involves the construction of residential facilities on 3.8ha of land at the junction of Ovingdean Road and Falmer Road in Brighton and Hove, East Sussex, the UK.
