Liberty Science Center (LSC) is planning to expand a science and technology center in Jersey City, New Jersey, the US.
The project involves the construction of a science and technology campus on 6.4ha of land. It includes the construction of a technology business incubator, 14,865m2 biotech and coding labs, open workspaces, a conference center, a 135-room science-themed hotel, a museum, a Liberty Science K-12 School with a STEM focus (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math), residences for 275 scientists, entrepreneurs,college students and the installation of elevators, and safety and security systems.
In January 2015, the Jersey City Redevelopment Agency voted to give the land for the development.
LSC is in the process of securing US$80 million funds toward the project costs.
In May 2016, LSC is in the process of negotiation with Jersey City Redevelopment Agency and yet to finalize agreements to develop the project.
On January 26, 2017, Liberty Science Center expansion get zoning planning approval, site plan for Scitech Scity has not been approved by city officials yet.
Construction is expected to start in the fourth quarter of 2018 and slated to complete in 2021.
