Live Oak LNG LLC (LOL), a subsidiary of Parallax Energy LLC, (Parallax) is planning to undertake a liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant in Louisiana, the US.
The project involves the construction of a LNG plant with production capacity of five million tonnes per annum (MTPA) on 142ha of land.
The project will includes the construction of two 130,000m3 storage tanks, port facilities with a jetty for standard size LNG carriers, processing units, a refinery, pumping stations and other related facilities and the installation of safety and security systems.
Bechtel Corporation has been appointed to undertake pre-engineering and design work; and Chart Industries for process design work.
Parallax appointed Cheniere Energy Inc (Cheniere) as an Associate developer.
The preliminary permit applications are expected to be submitted to Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), state and local authorities after open communications with the community and providing ongoing opportunities for a two-way dialogue on the project and thereafter commencing the formal public processes and environmental assessments.
Live Oak will hold Open House meetings as a forum for the public to learn more about the project and communicate directly with Live Oak team members. When all necessary requirements have been met and approved, a Notice to proceed will be issued by FERC.
The project is in the early stages of development. Construction is expected to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2019.
The project involves the construction of a 5MTPA LNG plant on 142ha of land in Lake Charles, Louisiana, the US.
