Leoni AG (LEO) is undertaking the construction of a car cable production facility in Nis, Serbia.
The project involves the construction of a 40,000m2 car cable production facility on 8ha of land and being implemented in three phases.
The first phase includes the construction of a production facility over an area of 15,000m2.
It includes the construction of service facility, a storage facility, access roads, parking facility, production units, warehouses, distribution units, an administrative space and related infrastructure, and the installation of machinery.
On October 19, 2016, LEO signed an agreement with the Government of Serbia for the project.
In November 2016, LEO issued a request for tender for the construction of the facility.
On February 2, 2017, preliminary works on the project commenced.
In July 2017, construction works on the first phase of the project was completed.
Construction works on the remaining phases are underway with completion of entire project by 2019.
