Lowe Enterprises (LE) and JBG Companies (JBG) are jointly undertaking the construction of Fort Totten Square Mixed-Use Development project in Washington, the US.

The project involves the construction of a 520-unit mixed-use facility over an area of 39,948m2 and is being developed in phases.

The first phase includes the construction of 350 residential units with a gross floor area of 27,871m2, a 12,077m2 retail space, parking space and related facilities.

The second phase includes the construction of 100 to 180 townhomes called Dakota Pointe, and related facilities.

Hickok Cole Architects has been appointed as architect, Parker Rodriguez Inc. as the landscape an architect and Cassidy Turley as a marketing consultant for the project.

In December 2011, Clark Construction Group LLC was appointed as general contractor for phase I.

In January 2013, construction works on the first phase commenced and was completed in October 2015.

Bank of America provided US$74 million loan for the project implementation.

EYA has been appointed as the developer for the second phase.

Developers are in the process of purchasing the District-owned property to the south of the development on the southeast corner of South Dakota Avenue and Riggs Road NE to build the second phase of the project.

In November 2016, Council held a public hearing is on the sale of District-owned property to developers EYA and JBG.

Planning activities on the second phase are underway.
