Kohinoor CTNL Infrastructure Company Pvt. Ltd (Kohinoor) is undertaking the construction of a mixed-use project in Maharashtra, India.
The project involves the construction of two diamond-shaped twin towers on 2ha of land. The two towers will be a 52-story central tower and a 32-story residential tower "Altissimo" with the height of 203m and 117m respectively.
The project will include the construction of Central Tower comprising shops, a multiplex, a food court, a retail block of 4,645m2 area, a 300-seat restaurant, a car parking facility which accommodates 2,000 vehicles, installation of 16 escalators and 47 elevators and the five uppermost floors will be turned into a 42-suite luxury five-star hotel known as "The Aayu Mumbai" which will be managed by General Hotel Management, Ltd (GHM).
The project also includes the construction of Altissimo, a residential tower, which comprises 15 floors of a public parking facility with the remaining floors full of apartments.
Fairwood Consultants Private Ltd has been appointed as project manager, gkk works, and SAA Architects as architects, Thornton Tomasetti as the structural engineer, Buro Happold Consulting Engineers Ltd and Spectral Services Consultants Private Ltd as MEP contractors.
Lerch Bates, Inc has been appointed as Vertical Transportation contractor, International Parking Design, Inc. as consulting engineer for the parking facility, Aviacon as an aviation consultant, Rowan Williams Davies & Irwin, Inc. as wind tunnel consultant and L&T Construction as EPC contractor.
In April 2011, Otis Elevator Company, a unit of United Technologies Corp., was awarded the supply contract. The company will supply 16 escalators and 47 elevators, including six Gen2(R) elevators.
As of August 2017, 80% of construction activities were completed. Construction activities on Altissimo are facing delay due to legal issues.
