Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC) is planning to build an industrial park in Kochi, Kerala , India.
The project involves the construction of an industrial park on 121ha of land. It will be developed in phases.
It includes the construction of an electronic testing and development center, a chip design center, a research and development center, PCB/chip design/embedded technology training center, a tool room, a business incubation center, a 20MVA, 110kV substation, parking and related infrastructure and the installation of CNC lathes, turning machines, milling machines, drilling machines, contour cutting machines, and the laying of 20km internal roads.
It will also includes the construction of commercial and residential complexes, service facilities, hotels, recreation facilities.
The first phase includes the infrastructure development for the project.
The project is being funded through equity capital of US$27 million with US$19.5 million from GoK and US$7.8 million from KSIDC. It is expected to receive grant in aid of US$19.5 million from the Central government and a term loan of US$70.5 million.
It will be executed on a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) basis.
During 2010-11 the State Government sanctioned budgetary support for the initial project works.
In 2012, the KSIDC issued requisition order to the revenue department to acquire the land.
In 2013, The Nelvayal Nireekshana Samithi (NNS) (Paddy field monitoring committee) of the Amballoor Village panchayat had undertaken a study and submitted a report to the authorities.
In November 2013, the Union government gave its in-principle approval for the project.
In August 2015, 40ha of land required for the park has been acquired.
In February 2016, KSIDC secured US$1.2 million from the government for acquisition of land for the project implmentation.
Project secured the clearance under the Conservation of Paddy Land and Wetland Act.
In March 2017, project received approval from the State-Level Empowered Committee (SLEC) in entirety the land value fixed by the District-Level Fair Compensation, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Committee (DLFC).
Land acquisition activities are underway.
