The King Street Developments (KSD), a partnership between developers Grainger plc and Helical Bar plc, is planning to undertake the construction of a mixed-use project in the UK.
The project includes the construction of a mixed-use project. The project will be implemented in two phases. The first phase includes the construction a new town square, 200 new homes, offices. It includes the construction of a footbridge, a supermarket, shops, restaurants, cafes, a cinema, a one-stop shop, parking facilities and demolition of 1960’s Hammersmith Town Hall.
The Sheppard Robson has been appointed as architect, Scape Design Associates as landscape architect and MN Communications as PR consultant for the project.
In the third quarter of 2007, Council consultation was taken place with stakeholders.
In the fourth quarter of 2007, Council consultation and public exhibition was held on shortlisted schemes.
In the third quarter of 2008, KSD was appointed as Council's Development Partner following feedback from public and stakeholders.
In November 2010, the planning application was submitted on the project.
In January 2011, public consultation was held for the projects.
In August 2011, KSD submitted revised planning application to local authorities.
In November 2011, planning consent for the project was obtained. However in December 2011, the referral was withdrawn as Greater London Authority had concerns over the project height.
In July 2012, KSD announced plans to reduce the height of the proposed building.
In November 2013, the project received approval from the Hammersmith and Fulham Council.
GVA Second London Wall has been appointed as the project manager.
In August 2016, Keltbray Group Holdings Limited was appointed as the demolition contractor.
In May 2017, Hammersmith & Fulham Council ended up their joint venture with Grainger plc and Helical Bar plc in project.
Demolition works on the first phase are underway.
