Korea Western Power Co. (KOWEPO) is planning to build a coal-fired power plant in Quang Tri, Vietnam.
The project involves the construction of a 1,200MW coal-fired power plant. It includes the construction of a powerhouse, a substation and related infrastructure, the installation of generators and transformers, and the laying of transmission lines.
On January 17, 2017, KOWEPO signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the People's Committee of Quang Tri Province.
KOWEPO will own and operate the power plant for 25 years. It will also carry out construction management and operations and maintenance (O&M) services.
Construction is expected to commence by the end of 2017 and is scheduled to be complete by 2022.
