The project involves the construction of processing facilities for neodymium resource and other mine related infrastructure facilities. It includes the construction tailings storage facility, beneficiation plant, concentrators, hydrometallurgical plant, access roads, accommodation camp, water storage dams, temporary concentrate dams and water supply systems.

The pre-feasibility study (PFS) team consists of:

Tetra Tech Proteus (TTP) has been appointed as the study consultant, the scope of work covers Study Management, Economic Evaluation, Infrastructure, Plant Design/EPCM and Metallurgy; Snowden as Geotech, Mine, Design/Reserves/Scheduling, Geology, and Resources Consultant; Snowden and CoxRocks are appointed for geology resources consultancy services; Core as Metallurgy (Hydromet & refining) study consultant; KyspyMet as Metallurgy (beneficiation) study consultant; Austwide as Tenements study consultant; Austwide, and Ecoscape as Native title issues study consultants; Ecoscape as Environmental/approvals consultant; Hyvista Corp for Topographical Survey; and ATC Williams as the study consultant whose scope of work covers Hydrology, Water, Waste Rock Placements and Tailings Storage Facilities.

In 2014, HAS has a Scoping Study indicating Yangibana’s economic viability and decided to proceed with a Pre-Feasibility Study (PFS).

In January 2015, TTP commenced PFS activities and completed its financial evaluation in April 2016.

In November 2015, Snowden Group completed an updated Scoping Study.

on April 8, 2016, the PFS report was released.

In March 2017, pilot plant testing was completed.

In April 2017, HAS submitted an environmental impact assessment with the WA's Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and KDNC submitted a mine permitting application to the government and awaiting approvals.
