Keystone Developments (KD), a part of Longhurst Group and Westleigh group (WG) are planning to undertake the construction of a residential complex over 16h of land in Grimsby, Lincolnshire, the UK.
The project involves the construction of a residential complex comprising 400 homes on 16ha of land and being developed in phases.
The first phase includes the construction of 16 new homes, which includes 10 retirement bungalows along with six houses and the second phase of the project includes 68 new homes.
The third phase of the project includes 48 homes and a community hub. The scope on remaining phases is yet to be revealed.
The project also includes the construction of 200 retirement homes, 100 social housing unit, 100 affordable homes, footpaths, a play area, parking facilities and other related infrastructure facilities, and the installation of safety and security systems.
In March 2012, KD submitted planning application for the project. However, due to local opposition the planning application was rejected by the North East Lincolnshire Council in November 2012.
In February 2013, KD submitted application with revised plans for the project.
On April 11, 2013, North East Lincolnshire Council rejected the planning application for the second time. However, later the council approved outline planning permission for the project.
In November 2013, planning permission was granted for the project development.
KD has obtained outline planning approvals for the first phase of the project in February 2014.
In February 2015, KD obtained final planning approval for the first phase and submitted planning application for the second phase to the council.
In April 2015, planning approval received for the second phase.
On July 16, 2015, planning application for the third phase submitted.
On February 8, 2016, Construction works on the first phase of the project commenced.
Construction works on the first phase and 200 retirement homes was completed in the second quarter of 2017.
Planning activities on the remaining phases are underway.
