The Norwegian National Rail Administration (Jernbaneverket) is planning to construct double-track rail line in Norway.
The project involves the construction of a 10km double-track rail line connecting from Sandbukta to Såstad via Moss. It includes the construction of a new railway station in Moss, two rail tunnels of 2.7km and 2.3km, platforms, maintenance buildings, parking facilities and passageways, laying of rail tracks, and installation of locomotives, signals and safety systems and related equipment.
COWI AS has been appointed to undertake site investigations. Rambøll Arkitektur & Plan and Sweco AS have been appointed to undertake the plans for the project.
On September 22, 2016, the project plan unanimously adopted by the council in Rygge.
On November 14, 2016, Moss city council approved the project plans.
Planning activities are underway.
Construction is scheduled to commence in 2019 with completion expected in 2025.
