Summary

JW Capital Partners (JWCP) is planning to build a hotel in Massachusetts, the US.

The project involves the construction of a 17,652m2, 277-room hotel comprising five-story buildings.

It includes the construction of suites, restaurants, bars, a 358m2 Boston Sailing Center, a 130-slip marina, a 379-space parking garage and related facilities, and the development of a 5,058m2 public park.

Albert, Righter & Tittmann Architects, Inc. has been appointed as architect and John Moriarty & Associates as construction manager.

In October 2014, JWCP unveiled the preliminary project plans.

On June 5, 2015, JWCP filed a letter of intent with the city council.

In September 2016, the state officials rejected the proposal as developers are not allowed to build hotel onto wharves, piers and pilings that are submerged at high tide.

On June 30, 2017, The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) issued verdict which in part rejected JWCP's proposal to build the hotel on the old pilings of the wharf.

The verdict does not prohibit JWCP to build on the 9.7ha it owns on the wharf. However, the verdict curtails JWCP from building over 0.64ha of water.

JWCP is working on revised plan, which may significantly reduce the project area.
