JSEB planned to invite bids for a developer by the end of December 2015, but however, that did not happen due to some land issues.

As of June 2016, the project is facing delay due to legal and environmental issues. The State Government of Jharkhand is carrying out studies for the project. JUVNL planning to issue bids in 2017.

The project involves the construction of a 4,000MW thermal power plant on a 1,052ha area at Husseinabad in Deoghar district, Jharkhand, India.
