JSW Group (JSW) is planning to undertake the expansion of Geetapuram port project in Maharashtra, India.
The project involves the expansion of quay length from 431.5m to 1,750m and cargo handling from the current 9.69 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) to 33.95 MTPA.
It will include construction of a paved container storage yard, roads, reefer gantries and bunkering system, the reclamation and paving of the terminal area and the installation of safety and security systems.
On November 29, 2015, JSW received environmental clearance for the project.
On November 8, 2016, JSW signed an agreement with Port of Fujairah for management of mechanised bulk cargo handling terminals.
Project is expected to complete by 2020.
