Jaiprakash Power Ventures Ltd (JVPL), a subsidiary of Jaypee Group, is undertaking the construction of Hirong hydro power plant project in Arunachal Pradesh, India.
The project involves the construction of a 500MW hydro electric power plant.
The project includes the construction of a reservoir, a head race tunnel, a tail race tunnel, a dam, a power house, a substation, the installation of turbines, generators, transformers and infrastructure related facilities and the laying of transmission line.
On February 2006, JVPL signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with the Government of Arunachal Pradesh for development. Under the agreement JVPL will develop on build own operate transfer (BOOT) basis for concession period of 40 years and will provide 12% free power for the first ten years and 15.5% from the 11th year onward.
In February 2010, feasibility study was completed and detailed project report (DPR) was prepared by Acres International of Canada.
JVPL obtained the Defence Clearance.
In May 2013, JVPL received clearance from the Central Electricity Authority (CEA).
JVPL is awaiting Environment and Forest Clearances.
The project involves the construction of a 500MW hydro electric power plant on Siyom river at West Siang in Arunachal Pradesh, India.
The US$700 million project includes the following:
1. Construction of a dam/reservoir
2. Construction of a head race tunnel
3. Construction of a tail race tunnel
4. Construction of a power house to install turbines
5. Construction of a substation
6. Installation of transformers
7. Laying of transmission lines
