The Jakarta Provincial Government (JPG) is planning to construct an integrated tunnel in Jakarta, Indonesia.
The project involves the construction of a 12km tunnel with 11m diameter and five to 15m below the ground level comprising two levels, one for road and the other for waste-water reservoir, with both functioning simultaneously.
The project includes the construction of diversion structures, drop shafts and access routes, the installation of inflow control gates, overhead lights and emergency systems.
The project is planned to be implemented through public-private partnership (PPP) mode.
PT Jakarta Tollroad Development (JTD) has been appointed as developer to build and maintain the road.
JTD is a consortium of PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol Tbk, PT Hutama Karya (Persero), PT Adhi Karya (Persero) Tbk, PT Citra Marga Nusaphala Persada Tbk, PT Pembangunan Perumahan, PT Jakarta Propertindo and PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk.
In May 2014, PT Antaredja Mulia Jaya in consortium with Bouygues Construction from France was awarded construction contract.
Feasibility study has been completed by PT Antaredja Mulia Jaya.
As of November 2016, companies from Singapore and China have shown interest to invest in the project.
Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and traffic analysis activities are underway.
