The construction promotion company InterBering formed by Canada-Alaska(USA)-Russia and China is planning to undertake the development of a China-Russia-Canada-America high speed rail link in between China-Russia-Canada-America.
The project involves construction of a 13,000km long railroad, 200km long tunnel under the Bering Strait, stations, sidings and related facilities, the installation of signal lights, safety systems and power related facilities and the laying of tracks
Russia and the US may each eventually take 25% stakes in the project, with private investors and international finance agencies as other shareholders.
The national utility Unified Energy System (UES) and pipeline operator Transneft are planning to invest in the project to develop a gas transport pipeline fibre optic cable lines along with the railway line.
